Accommodation: Mid-range hotel in Arusha
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, your safari begins as you depart Arusha and travel toward Tarangire National Park. On arrival, you enter a landscape defined by rolling savannahs, river valleys, and giant baobab trees. Tarangire is famous for hosting one of the largest elephant populations in northern Tanzania, often seen moving in large herds along the Tarangire River. As you explore the park, you may spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelopes, and predators such as lions resting beneath the shade.
Your guide will take you through both open plains and wooded areas, offering insights into animal behavior, seasonal patterns, and the unique ecosystems that make Tarangire so rich in biodiversity. Lunch will be served at a designated picnic site within the park, after which you continue with your afternoon game drive. By late afternoon, you exit the park and drive toward the Manyara region, where your lodge awaits for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full morning game drive. The park’s diverse landscapes offer a mix of groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and lake-edge plains — each supporting unique wildlife. As you enter the forested areas, you may encounter troops of baboons, blue monkeys, elephants, and various bird species. Further toward the lake, flamingos, pelicans, herons, and other waterbirds gather in impressive numbers.
Lake Manyara is one of the few places in Africa where lions are known to climb trees, and with a bit of luck, you might witness this unusual behavior. You will continue exploring the park’s habitats for the remainder of the morning before enjoying a picnic lunch. Afterward, you begin your drive back to Arusha.
