Detailed Itinerary

Your journey begins when we pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport. Our Wildicon Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to a comfortable lodge in Arusha. You’ll have time to rest, freshen up, and prepare for your safari adventure. In the evening, enjoy a briefing with your guide covering the safari plan, wildlife expectations, packing essentials, and useful travel tips.

Accommodation: Mid-range hotel in Arusha
Meals: Dinner

After breakfast, depart early for Lake Manyara National Park. Arriving mid-morning, you’ll start your first safari drive through forest, marshes, and lake-edge habitat — perfect for spotting elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, and a rich variety of birdlife including flamingos during certain seasons. The park’s unique ecosystem offers a mix of forest and open plains, and flowing groundwater supports a lush environment even during dry periods.

Around midday, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch or a lodge lunch (depending on preference and schedule), then drive toward the Serengeti via the highlands and scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon entering Serengeti, you’ll witness open plains and savannah beginning to stretch indefinitely — a dramatic preview of what’s ahead. In the evening you’ll reach your lodge or tented camp in or near the Serengeti, ready for dinner and a night under African skies.

Accommodation: Mid-range lodge or tented camp (Serengeti area)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Wake up early for sunrise game drive — one of the best times to observe predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas while prey animals are still active. Over the day, your guide will lead you across varied terrain — open plains, kopjes, riverine forests — maximizing opportunities to spot elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebra, antelopes, and possibly big-cat activity.

If your travel window aligns with migration season, you may catch wildebeest and zebra herds moving through the plains — a spectacular, dynamic scene. You’ll pause for lunch (boxed lunch if out on game drive) and continue into the afternoon with further wildlife spotting and scenic drives. In the evening, return to camp or lodge for dinner and restful overnight stay under the stars.

After an early breakfast, leave Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the crater rim, prepare for a breathtaking descent into one of Africa’s most remarkable natural sanctuaries. The crater floor offers dense wildlife populations — expect sightings of elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, lions, hyenas, and potentially the elusive black rhino among open grasslands and forest patches.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool or crater lake, a chance to take in the landscape and wildlife. After the final game drive in the crater, begin the ascent and drive back to Arusha, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport depending on your travel plans.
